On average, how long do you all spend at the gym for each session?

I would like to get back into shape again, and today made an enquiry to a local gym regarding membership costs. It's moderately priced at £185 a year but I fear that if I do pay, I will never go due to social anxiety.

hmm. it varies on if I am sick or not (this year so far sinus infections have been brutal). IF I am not sick, 3-4 days a week, anywhere from 30min to 2hrs depending on what I am doing and how long of a wait I have on some equipment.

I always walk home from the gym, and then take a shower as soon as I get home.

I work-out twice a week, for about 45 minutes a time, with a mix of resistance machines and free weights. In addition I walk over an hour a day, including a very steep hill on the way to work.

You don't have to, but it is generally a good idea to do so. I remember way back in high school. I was in the H.S. football practice team, and I didn't take a shower after practice because I didn't think I needed it. Boy was I wrong the next day while in class with the other guys and the coach were checking to see if any one had showered. I took a whiff of myself, and it was awful I smelled like I hadn't showered in days. Even though I wasn't too terribly involved with the practice. At least not as much as the starting players. I wasn't sweaty but I stunk massively, so much so that I was anxious to get home to shower. So yeah you don't have to take a shower, but I would recommend it.
