i get that but it is a more recent thing and i was sure it was just anxiety pains. maybe it is angina??? i get sharp pains to the left of my heart and sometimes over my heart and on the left side of my chest too. anxiety and chest pains can be related to tension headaches too.

interesting stuff

Yeah, it could also be anxiety or stress related. Ive heard of people being really stressed out and getting pains in their heart. I have noticed that since im done with school, I havent gotten the pains anymore. So id say my problem (and possibly yours) could be a combination of that trapped gas and stress/anxiety.

You should see a doctor to find out what is wrong, so it can be fixed. This does not sound like cancer. It is possible for other wise healthy people to have heart problems, sometimes they can sneak up on you. If this is the case, a doctor can help you. If it's something else, the doctor can help with that. It might be sleep apnea, and there are treatments for that. I have that myself, but don't get the "electric shock" sensation. I do come awake suddenly sometimes, and sometimes wake myself with my own loud snoring. Sometimes I wake from dreams involving cars, or boats, or planes, or trains, and then I know I've been having a sleep apnea episode, as the "motor" noises in the dreams are from the sound of my snores being added to the dreams. I usually hate these motor dreams, as the car or plane is usually going too fast, and I have little or no control over speed or direction--scary! A few times my mind even made the sound of my snores be the sound of machinery in my dreams, like in factories.

Please, just go see a doc, and get the mystery solved, and then they can treat you for whatever is wrong. Don't go to a chiropractor to start with. They basically handle the spine and neck, but you have no idea what is causing your problems right now. First go to a general practitioner. He/she can get the basic info from you, and give you a physical exam, which will guide them in figuring out what tests you will need, and which specialists you may need to see. Once they know what is wrong, they can come up with a treatment plan for you, but you need to make the first move--you need to go see the doctor.

If money is tight, go to the emergency dept. By law they must treat you even if you can't pay, or direct you to someone else who can treat you. They also can help you with a payment plan, or help you find charitable organizations that will help you cover the costs of treatment, if you don't have insurance, and can't pay out of pocket.

I have a relative who needed surgery some years ago. At the time he had no insurance, but did have some cash from a company buyout. He did some research, and found a good hospital for that type of surgery in the neighboring state, that would do the surgery for a lot less money if he paid cash. Insurance companies make them wait months to be paid, make them fill out tons of paperwork, and often gyp them on at least part of the cost, so hospitals do like to be paid in cash. It was worth giving a discount to my relative, to avoid the insurance hassles. I drove him there early in the morning, and home later in the day. Fortunately, he was able to do this as an in/out one day procedure.

So you see, you do have options. Now make an appointment and find out what's wrong, so you can get it fixed! :D
