The need to go to the bathroom seems to come over me very quickly. One minute I don't need to go at all, and the next I must go NOW.

Ever since my fiance and I became sexually active, I've had to treat three separate UTI's.

Now I constantly take cranberry pills to keep them away.

One thing I have noticed, though, is that even though I don't have a UTI anymore, I still always have to pee very frequently. And when I have to pee, I have to pee RIGHT NOW THIS MINUTE! Even if I did not have to pee at all 5 seconds ago.
If I don't find a bathroom within 10 seconds of the signal, I will slowly leak, no matter how "tight" I hold my muscles that control the flow. I now wear those thick "overnight" menstrual pads everyday, just in case.

Edit: Doesn't matter how much liquid there is in my bladder. It could be alot or a little.
I researched it, and "Urge Incontinence" seems to match up exactly with what I am experiencing.

I go #2 quite a bit for some reason......I'd say on any given day I typically hit the dunny 5 times. Urinating though? I can hold that stuff til rapture. Unless of course I have a considerable amount of whiskey in me.

So when people say I'm full of crap? Well, its true.

Only when i was a kid. I had to go to the bathroom every time i got a chance. Although, i think it was partially because of anxiety and being afraid that i might not get a chance to be able to get to the bathroom later.

I usually go a lot. I'm pretty sure it has more to do with the fact that I always have a drink in my hand than anything else. I think it was worse when I was drinking Mountain Dew all the time (now I mostly drink Arizona green tea). I can hold it a long time though, even though it's extremely uncomfortable. And sometimes if I have to wake up early, I'll drink something before bed to make sure I'll wake up (since it's hard to stay asleep if you really have to go. I'm pretty sure I'm physically incapable of having an accident, so it all works out).

For me as a Mom, YES. Before hand, NO, unless I drank alot of something. Once you have kids(the natural way), your ability to "hold it" just never is the same. I think I will stop here with my explaination before it becomes TMI...LOL

I second that!

Also, sweet tea does it for me, if i drink a lot or if i drink before bed, i will have to get up at night to go again.

I have chronic poly nephritis, so I'm not sure whether or not it counts. My problem is that I always feel like I need to go... but hardly can when I try.

I never had a problem until I had to go on a diuretic for hypertension. Now I'm drinking 4-6 liters of water a day because I get dehydrated. Seems rather circular.

I have a serious condition called Interstitial Cystitis. Wanting to go bathroom every 5 min? Sounds like IC or overactive bladder.

This is common for people when they are nervous. The chemicals your body releases when you're stressed cause you evacuate your bladder. It's not just people with autism!

I remember my cousin (totally NOT on the spectrum) peed 20 times in the hour before her piano recital when we were kids. I found it comical.

I have to pee very frequently. Sometimes 2 or 3 times in an hour. I think for me it is that I always have a drink in my hand. I drink a lot of water and some soda.

I have bowel problems, and I need to wear protection. I put puppy pads in my underpants, during daytime hours, and at night, I wear disposable underpants.

that might be a problem with retention. I would get that checked out, because it can be a really serious issue. It can lead to kidney problems and kidney failure if you are constantly retaining urine, as it can build up way to much pressure and cause damage. If you are a guy, you can try leaning forward when you pee, place a hand on the wall, and lean yourself forward.

Ahhhh, kids. They always pick the right moment don't they? I hope you weren't on a date. Mine asked me what sex was very loudly while walking through Target. She had a whole hour of commute to ask me in the car, but oh noooo...

OP- I sometimes have the overactive bladder, and I can usually attribute it to my drinks or a supplement. Do you take any supplements?

I am lucky that I don't have the muscle control issue- I had to have a C section (10 lb baby).

I doubt it has anything to do with AS, but what I think is an interesting coincidence is that my (AS) boyfriend is the first person I've met who, like me, after drinking anything at all, immediately has to pee REALLY BAD after about 10 minutes. I hate it. I can't bring drinks into movie theaters for this reason... I hate always having to get up and miss the movie :(
