I've been vegetarian for about two or three years. My mom served dumplings today that I thought were veggie but turned out to contain meat, and I ate a couple.

Now I feel tainted and dirty not to mention physically sick.

 I know the feeling, I took my veganism very seriously indeed, then I gradually lapsed into a veggo, and now 20 years later I am back to the BBQ

But I do remember the occasions when I did inadvertently eat meat I was horrified.

Why the return to meat, purely practical shallow reasons, I was not spending the time to prepare proper nutritious food, and I lived with a bunch of meat eaters and gradually I succumbed to an easier food routine

Yesterday I accidentally ate a sample of chicken. I thought it was a breadstick. LOL During mid chew I got suspicious and asked the cashier what it was. I didn't want to be rude so I just swallowed it and ordered a drink. Wow, I don't know how long it's been since I had chicken, but it wasn't that great. It reminded me of cafeteria food from grade school. :eew:
