I think I have this..literally every single symptom I have had.Yesterday and today I feel so depressed and rotten...I literally found out about my Candida yesterday-my friend had posted a link to the Body Ecology diet website and I was reading it,then reading further into Candida symptoms,ALL of which I have had! About five years ago I got hives every day for nearly two years, have always had an over sensitive bladder...every single symptom I have had. Today I had some hummus I hade made with sprouted corn tortillas and vegetables for lunch. My brain is so foggy and I know it's the sprouted food that triggered it! AHA!

I went into my organic store today and got a great (expensive) twice weekly probiotic specifically for Candida and a supplement called Candex which another former employee apparently swears by.The woman who works in the supplement department rushed off to photocopy pages of a Candida diet from a book for me;however it's not vegan and really limited.

I have some complications already in my diet: being a vegan,I NEED beans and grains for protein.Through years of unwise intense yogic fasting and a 6 month stint as a raw vegan last year ( PLEASE DON'T DO THAT TO YOUR BONES!!) my bones and nutrients and digestion are still getting used to "food" food again.I am able to digest beans and grains but make sure to soak them overnight.I used to have banana or papaya beforehand in order to prepare the digestive tract, but apparently we aren't supposed to have fruit?

I would be SO GRATEFUL if anyone could share some tips with me.Obviously I need protein and refuse to eat meat, have not for alomst 14 years.I feel bloated a lot of the time, and have had trouble losing weight.I am on acne medication, living with my family, and not sure it is wise to just discontinue the medication (Minocycline) for now, although I am only taking one pill daily instead of the advised two.I take Floradix for Iron and 5,000 IU of Vitamin D daily.

Sorry this is so long! I am very healthy, start the day with astanga yoga, then some weights,a two mile run...then warm water with lemon,a shake with VEGA protein powder (need that 25 grams of protein!) and sometimes a banana. For lunch I usually have very well cooked grains and beans and some vegetables, snack not sure of right now (got some rice cakes at the store),dinner same as lunch.I guess sugar is the hardest for me,I am addicted to fresh fruit and it's painful for me to consider going without papayas, apple bananas, strawberries since I live in Hawai'i !

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I've had actual candida. As in, specific localized infections that can be diagnosed by biopsy from a regular hospital, rather than the bogus diagnosis of "systemic candida" (which I've also been misdiagnosed with) which really only occurs in extremely immunosuppressed people, but which quack doctors like to diagnose everybody with (especially autistic people, people with CFS, and people with other incurable conditions) and then put them on a diet that doesn't even work for real systemic candida in, say, AIDS patients. For actual specific candida infections, you use antifungals, not diet.

This, basically. But with a caveat: While "systemic candida overgrowth" is indeed a bogus diagnosis by alternative witch doctors, there can be cases of intestinal or oral candida overgrowth in healthy people that usually go undiagnosed. candida is a normal part of the gut flora, but it is very opportunistic. If there is a low amount of beneficial gut bacteria, for example after taking antibiotics (which only work against bacteria and don't affect yeasts), there can be a local overgrowth of candida.

@OP: There are natural ways to get rid of intestinal candida. Prebiotics and probiotics add beneficial bacteria to the gut flora that feed on yeasts. Garlic is a great natural antifungal (as well as an antibiotic and an anthelmintic), so you want to eat large amounts of it. If you can't stand the taste and smell, you can also take capsules with garlic oil. Another antifungal is the piperine in black pepper and chili pepper. Pepper sauces like tabasco contain great amounts of piperine. If you eat garlic and pepper and limit your sugar and starch intake for a few months, you should be fine.

I've just started taking garlic pills-and will start a twice daily chlorophyll shot-oregano oil as well...my stomach is still pretty bloated but almost all the other symptoms are GONE,within two days! Now it's just a matter of adhering to the diet long term-no fruit, lots of beans and grains and vegetables which is easy for me.I guess I can have half a papaya in a few months.. :(
