what is the pointof any activity besides working, sleeping, and eating?

Enjoyment.

I like basketball. I meed to start wakingup earlier so I have time to shoot baskets before work

yes, enjoyment, but I don't see why they got so popular. Why isn't tag or something like that a national sport or something? People don't get paid for being the best tagger in your neighborhood

They get so popular because of the fan base! A lot of poeple like fighting so naturally there are a crap ton of fans! Which in turn, brings lots of money! Lets say a lot of people didn't like to watch fighting. There would be little to no fans and thus no revenue or huge income.

MMA got so big, they practically put boxing out of business. Its all about the money! So if tag as a sport were to line the important peoples pockets with millions, then tag would become a popular sport. Unfortunately, there is no huge fan base for tag lol On a competitive level, it rates low! Sorry to say but there is not much to tag!

What is the point of sports you ask. I would say money! that exactly what everything is about.

IF YOU THINK YOUR FREE, THEN TRY TO GO SOMEWHERE WITHOUT MONEY. WE ARE ALL SLAVES TO THE ALL MIGHTY DOLLAR!

In order for a sport to become what it is, it needs appeal to the public in order for there to be a fan base! I would say it needs to be fun for the players but thats a load of croc!

There are things that i am naturally good at but dont enjoy! But if it made me thousands of dollars or even millions like pro athletes make, then I wouldnt care!

From the stand point of just your average player; It's fun!! ! I for one like to push myself beyond my limits! It gives me a purpose in life and allows me to feel like i accomplished something! I feel great!

Like if i run in a 5K and place 6th. I feel awesome because i made it across the finish line and was 6th out of 400 people. Its not 1rst but that shows me i need to work harder and i still feel great at the same time!

This is a sport where i dont have to interact with people and can compete! My normal day life is sitting at home on the computer or exercising. I have no friends and collect SSI. So natural i feel like crap and hate myself. But sports takes that all away and lets me feel awesome!

A lot of sports do not really require a lot of human interaction. Like basketball. GO to a park and ask to play. You are going to being running up and down the court. When will you find the time to hold a conversation? All that is required is, hey over here or pass the rock. Not much.

Unless your on an official team.

Boxing is cool too. Tell your coach that you have aspergers and explain. He will work with you and just spar and fight.

Again, sports are fun! Thats why people do then. thats why there is such a thing as recreation sports. I also assume that it is in mans nature to be competitive. Which sports allow! the guy to the right wants bigger muscles than the guy to the left but the guy to the left has bigger muscles. he in turn gets to show em off. Girls like it... i think and it goes round and round.

You do not see doing laundry as a sport lol Do i need to go into why?

I have rambled on for awhile now. So i am going to stop!

Welp, I don't consider myself to be masculine... so maybe that's one reason I don't get them

Thank you for this comment, it is excellent.

Obviously they have a large fanbase. But what I meant is why specific athletes have so many fans. Why would you want to watch a football game when you could play it yourself?

Fun is subject to opinion, and there are more forms of entertainment than those three things.

I like fencing, some video games, and some movies. Music is probably the biggest form of entertainment intake that I have in my life. and YouTube. :D

I feel the same way!! I don't watch sports unless it's fighting. I just play them. I think specific athletes have so many fans is because... Well I have no idea lol

Perhaps there's some kind of homoerotic attraction happening. Or perhaps they're like deities or mythical heroes to their fans. Or both, or something else. Who knows.

That was my second guess.

Sports are just entertainment.

Just like a movie.

I think it's tribal thinking to be a part of a team and their lives suck so they feel like their winning form the athletes that are been paid a lot to preform in colossians that their taxs paid for

And they make billions of dollars for them to drink let their anger out, jump up and down like chimps while flinging their s**t with the worst insults at the other team and supporters of the team, And this is what they do for fun and is their life

Other people just flip burgers or dig ditches. Equivalently paid people are CEOs. Rather athletes with a ton of money than CEOs.

I guess Scottinoz idea of fun is so much better than these philistines.

I hope I have fun with my occupation

Sports are great fun to follow, but I don't find them very fun to play.
