No cause I'm not dumb enough to eat anytime even remotely close to a workout.

Excuse me?

FYI, I work out a lot, and have only thrown up that one time. I was wondering if it was a cold, or what, because I don't have any symptoms. I wanted to know other people's experiences because I was perplexed. And any health and fitness expert will tell you to eat soon after a workout, because you are burning calories and don't want to starve yourself. It is also good to eat high-protein food after so you can repair some of the muscle tissue that you just tore.

Yes a few times but i have lost a lot of weight from living alone and was lacking cooking skills and i wasn't well educated on health very well and had bad obsessions and i have become much better after 1 year but i naturally have a skinny figure which might play a huge role so if i can do it anyone can and know what it's like to feel chubby and will never make jokes about eating cake :P

I have thrown up multiple times after workouts - it turns out I had a problem with protein shakes and milk - putting the two together was just asking for trouble.

Even protein powder by itself makes me feel sick, and sometimes I used to throw up just from that alone. *shrug*

Probably not helpful to you, I expect.

I mainly meant before a workout. Eating shortly after a workout is okay as long as you weren't doing hard cardio.

I already know that the optimal time for a protein shake is shortly after a workout with weights like that article says.

After my annual personal fitness assessment in the army I did. I had been drinking all the night before though

It happened a lot when I was in high school,
and continues to be an ongoing problem.
Several times @ the gym, I've barely made it to the women's room before heaving.

I do wait a few hours after eating, but the whole process (working out) for me is inseparable from vomit suppression.

That's one reason I wait 12-15 hours or longer after eating before I workout especially if I'm doing cardio.

I have never actually thrown up from working out but I have felt very close before. Mostly when I started out playing Dance Dance Revolution back in high school. I wasn't in the greatest shape at the time and after some of the more challenging songs I would be completely wiped out to the point of nearly throwing up. I remember a few times I even layed down on the arcade floor to catch my breath.

I CANNOT run fast for too long or I will throw up.

If its early in the morning and I haven't had a gatorade and I have to run a lot, I throw up.

I take medication (I don't want to! They make me) which make me nausea (can't spell the right term).

Are you drinking too much water during runs workouts?
I would throw up water every day in Track/ running club until my eight grade science teacher (also was helping coach track (long distance)) cared to inform me that it was because I was drinking too much water.

I know right? Thats not something they tell you in health!

Some people use throwing up as a coping mechanism (not on purpose of course). My dad threw up a lot as a kid too, so I guess I get it from him.

Drink gatorade or something of the like! Hope that helps.

Hmm maybe Gatorade would help.

It hasn't happened since, but it happened after I cycled home on a hot afternoon. I didn't drink anything.

I've had times where I couldn't walk the next day, but I've never thrown up around a workout. I haven't thrown up at all in 11-12 years.

I've learned that if I exceed my target heart rate for too long it makes me really nauseated.
