I love how everyone says it's an NT thing when this Aspie is very passionate about sport and the sense of community that I've found within my sport.

I actually know another aspie online who is passionate about sports, so you're not the only one.

Of course, the same question could be asked of those who love physics (something I have dabbled in but just can't love) or cars or anything. We each have our passions, no point questioning them.

I have never seen two physicists get into a physical fight over opinions and loot and go berserk (outside of The Big Bang Theory)

No, but I have seen physicists backstab and undermine each other, especially when they're looking for things like scholarships or funding for reasearch. I've also seen a couple of doctors who disagreed on some sort of treatment, and a few of the personal attacks made behind each others back was a bit disconcerting.
