Assuming nothing goes wrong with it, you should be fine for social things within a day or two.

I've had surgery on my nose to correct a deviated septum. It was like 4 years ago. My surgery went OK I guess except the recovery was kinda a pain cuz my nose was bleeding a lot at times. The only real risk the doc warned me about was that I may have a tiny hole in the bottom of my nose which would cause my nose to whistle. That didn't happen to me. I had the surgery done cuz of sinus & allergy problems & I may have sleep apnea that the surgery might of helped with a tad.

If I have surgery on my nose too correct a deviated septum will I not be able too go out socialising with my friends for a while?

it has been my experience that if you are in a hospital that skimps on pain meds, you may experience some discomfort during the procedure. you may be awake during the procedure unless you successfully request conscious sedation via IV. when i scrubbed on those procedures, i observed that the typical patient would have nasal petrolatum packing inserted into the nose and sinuses for about a week, so you may well mouth-breath for a week or so unless they use the fancy new packing with nasal passages in it. even in that case, your nose likely will be stuffier than normal for a while.
