Fingers crossed it'll go away with time then.
Stonglifts is a slightly more approachable ripoff of Starting Strength. Thanks to that program, I have exploded at least two pairs of perfectly good pants with my thighs. The time where it happened at work was kind of embarassing, tho.

No, I have a small home gym, so I work out at home. I did patronise a gym for several months in late 2019/early 2020 when I was homeless. It was not a pleasant experience. I got creepy attention from men and one even came into the women's changing room/bathroom while I was in there alone. Mildly traumatic and enraging.
The gym did not have any free weights (I could afford only a cheap $10/month gym). I used the weight machines instead and ended up injuring my rotator cuff and something in my thigh. I had to go into physical therapy. This happened despite the fact that I was already in shape (I lift free weights at home). I've squatted 145 lbs., deadlifted 165 lbs., and bench pressed 50 lbs. with free weights and never had an injury. I was lifting maybe 50 lbs. when I hurt my rotator cuff with the weight machine.
I will never use a weight machine again. When I started lifting, I did Stronglifts, so I've watched the Stronglifts videos and seen the guy Mehdi warn about weight machines. Seems like he was right. Also the workout with weight machines takes forever because you have to work out only one or two muscle groups at a time, whereas I can do compound lifts with free weights.
Better-equipped gyms are way more expensive, so having my home gym is more economical, and I don't have to deal with crowds and male predators. Having to wait for people to finish with the weights or machines was a pain (the gym was mostly cardio equipment instead of weights or weight machines). And sticking to a workout routine is a lot easier when I don't have to travel to the gym and can workout whenever I want to.

Put some focus on your quads and it'll be easier to maintain it.
I already have good quad muscles. I hope to improve the upper part of the body, for health (muscles help with your weight maintenance, yes) and for the heck of it. I will have to work on my discipline, though. I'm not sure I have it in me, but then, my weight loss program is working well.
