Usually around 90/60.
And people always brought it up. Maybe it's my normal.

Pulse usually around 70-100.

Prefers salty diet to begin with.
Doesn't do heavy workouts. Doesn't work out regularly. Yet I do walk around at least total of 20 hours a week for years if that counts.

Don't have meds that alters blood pressure.

Still a bit anemic.
Easily prone to blood pressure changes when standing up or getting up -- like few seconds going blind and feeling heavy.
I don't get dizzy or fatigued that often, just very prone to stress like any other aspie do.

And sometimes I get pale on first few days of monthly periods even if the flow isn't very heavy.

I don't know why.

My GP advised me to eat more salt.

Has that been helpful for you? I got the same advice and have been consuming a ton of salt, but am still getting hypotension symptoms. Thinking about trying compression stockings, but they seem like more trouble than they'd be worth.

I don't think it has. I've started taking 14mg iron tablets.....they contain vitamin C, which helps with absorption. I take these just before bed, and on an empty stomach. Haven't been feeling as dizzy since. Weightlifting isn't as tough either.

I'd check with your GP if you plan on taking iron supplements..... it's dangerous to take high doses unless you have a deficiency. The dose I take is low (I don't have a deficiency last time they checked).

I haven't tried compression stockings. That could be an option too.

Sorry for derailing, DeepHour!

I've become obsessed with this issue again recently after being put on a beta blocker (Propranolol). After never having had a systolic reading much below 170 (and often closer to 200), I've now had a majority of readings in the 140-160 range over the last few days, although the diastolic readings have remained stubbornly in the mid-80s. Pulse is usually in the mid to higher 50s, though I've had a couple in the high 40s. This beta blocker is supposed to lower blood pressure by reducing the pulse rate, so this shouldn't come as a surprise, though I'd be a bit concerned if it got regularly into the lower 40s.

I don't understand the numbers but almost everytime I have an appointment at the health center I get told my BP/blood pressure is perfect or almost perfect. I'm on the BP med Inderal/Propranolol for reasons other than BP. The official reason is Essential Tremors but Inderal barely helps if at all. Inderal helps stops me from having migraines thou so I tell my doc it helps my tremors slightly because my docs didn't think my migraines were frequent enough to warrant preventive medication. My dose of Inderal is 90mg 2x day. I'm on a few other meds that can potentially affect BP, mostly for psych reasons.

Last time my GP took it (about a week ago), it was 130/80. Not bad for someone who's fat, female and over forty. Also take ADHD stimulants every day.

I'm glad not everything is hereditary as my mum had a condition known as malignant hypertension in her late teens. She was in hospital for months and the doctors were afraid she would have a stroke. Her diastolic reading was over 200. This was back in the 1950s so there wasn't much that could be done for her. She just had to stay quiet and calm in a hospital bed. Her case was written about in medical journals.

Mine was 183/105 when I arrived to hospital after my first stroke.
I don't know what it was during the stroke.

Prior to that I'd always been hypotensive, as low as 60/40.

After the stroke I've stayed high.
The highest I've seen is a systolic over 200 (can't remember the numbers).

I take four BP meds per day.
Two are normal BP pills, and one is my PTSD nightmare med.
I take one ADHD med that increases heart rate, and one that lowers BP.

I also take a blood thinner to prevent a third stroke.

Let's take a look for today:

Hey, that's great considering the BS stuff I'm going through lately.

My blood pressure has stabilized recently at around 165/85. Still high, but a bit lower than before I was put on Propranolol.

110/60 (ideal:120/80)

I have a tendency to feel dizzy under the wrong circumstances and I probably forget to drink or do something equally obvious wrong. Do you know what I should watch out for? I'm trying to cut out caffeine, as it makes me forget about my physiological needs such as eating and drinking and it also dehydrates.

143/73 latest.

I'm currently on 160mg Propranolol and 5mg Amlodipine daily. The Propranolol dosage was doubled in January, and in combination with the Amlodipine seems to have stabilised my BP at around the 140/75 level.
