2009 NCAA Basketball Tournament Brackets [based off current records]

My picks for the Final Four for each bracket as follows
MIDWEST: #12Illinois State
WEST: #10Washington
SOUTH: #9Florida or #3Clemson (Florida)
EAST: #13George Mason (UCONN and UNC in the same region)

I'm guessing with the past two tournament

EAST vs. WEST
SOUTH vs. MIDWEST

Mason over Washington

Illinois State over Florida (Very Similar)

Mason over Illinois State (Mason is the national champ)

Well Mason lost by one to Northeastern but worse is JV (John Vaughan) was injured with 2:12 to play in the second half. He was hit in the face by an elbow then a foot. After the first free throw due to Vaughan fouling the guy that hit him, he was disoriented and fall to his knees and ground. It took 20 minutes for him to taken off the floor via a stretcher and an ambulance. Have a speedy recovery, JV!! We need you to beat VCU!! !

Vaughan suffered a concussion basically and was release from the hospital. He just going to be check by Mason's training staff. I hoping he'll play against VCU on Saturday.

Northeastern is not a major basketball power, it isn't even very good. No team who loses to Northeastern can be considered a national powerhouse.

Actually that is not true because both Mason and Northeastern are the top two defensive in the CAA. Also if you were not aware, Northeastern was ranked second at the preseason with Mason ranked fourth. Mason is still a powerhouse team based on their stats as a mid-major team (CAA is a mid-major conference)

Mason's Stats

Northeastern's Stats

On the other note

Mason allows 59.4 Points while Northeastern allows 60.2

Mason has lose four game with a total of 14 points (HAMP, LIB, DAY, and NU)

Northeastern 87 points (MICH, BU, USF, URI, MEM, and HOF)

VCU got the better of Mason today (I was there). 76-71. It was still a great game because both Mason and VCU fans agree about it. Well not the very mean fans but fans who respect their opponents and shake hands with their opponent's fans. The CAA is heating up now. This year's championships should be interesting.

Mason drilled Delware 78-55! Start off rough for Mason but began the comeback within the first half and ending the half 37-35 in Mason's hands. The second half in Mason's control with 12-2 run start and evenutally leading to 41-20 in the second half. Northeastern at the moment leads VCU 34-27! If VCU loses then Mason and VCU are tied for second with Northeastern on top. However since Northeastern comes to Mason on Feb. 14th, Mason beats them then a three way tie for first will occur once more.

ODU won over Mason at ODU 73-71. Still a very close game for both teams. At least JV is back and our next three games could be easy. Hofstra @ GMU then GMU @ JMU and DEL.

I just check and Mason is in third instead of tide for third with Drexel because we beat Drexel when the first CAA games happened back in 2008.
