I do it for animal rights sake, and that it benefits my health is a nice bonus. I am well aware that the vegetables on my plate also used to be a form of life, but let's just say I consider animal life superior and worth more than vegetable life. A plant is just standing there, doing nothing, an animal has an interaction and affection towards people that is so much above the vegetable life. I need to eat after all, even when it means consuming a form of life, but when I can avoid animals to be that form of life I happily stick to vegan food.
