being deaf is one thing there is a risk of you getting tinnitus which is constant loud ringing of the ears which is hard to ignore...

A friend did research on his own tinnitus (ringing of the ears) and found that it was sugar/high fructose corn syrup related (among a few things but that was the main one I remember). Try avoiding sugars for a full week and see if any of the ringing goes away.

I love my noise-canceling headphones. They don't even have to emit the frequency, they just need to be snug around your ears. The brand Skull Candy is particularly good. :D
