I did some gardening the other day, nothing much really but I put my back out. I did not feel anything at the time but I woke up the next morning with a sore back. It's geeting better every day but still sore.

I retired from work last year and since then I have lost a considerable amount of weight. I am now actually reasonably healthy. I even go for regular walks whenever I can! Just thought I would add a positive note!

Did you have an office type job before that involved lots of sitting? I recently read a headline of an article on a medical site of a study about walking helping back pain.
I was physically healthier when I was working but the jobs I had were federal minimum-wage manual labor things. I was standing or walking the entire time I was on the clock unless I was bending over for something or cleaning under an isle. I'm very sedentary in genetal though. It's one of the reasons it would be good for me to get a part-time job.

I reckon my backs as it is because of sitting at a desk all day because when I did manual work I was never in any pain with my back

I'm considering asking the doctor for some antidepressants because I feel like I've been scudding along the bottom for ages now, nearly 2 years. I can't get up any enthusiasm for doing anything, can't seem to get anything done. I'm worried about that though because I've been on them before and i don't remember them doing much, except causing weight gain and I really don't need that. But I'm running out of ideas.

I can't believe that in my lifetime in the UK I'm actually saying: I've got a medical bill to pay for

Time to wake up...the world's changed
