Not me. My Sharks traded my favorite player (Dany Heatley) and Devin Setoguchi, too, for some nobodies from Minnesota. Of course, everyone on Minnesota is a nobody. (except for the players the Sharks just traded them) Why would they do that?

We dig the Sharks as well and have followed them closely ever since the Bruins traded away Joe Thornton. As much as I enjoy watching San Jose, it's an increasingly maddening experience. Between the playoff flubs and the constant roster changes involving key players, I wind up more frustrated than anything else. Was pretty thoroughly pissed that they traded Gooch and I had actually started to like Heatley after some initial apprehension. The organization seems to have no loyalty to its players and the guys are forced to play under a constant cloud of being traded if they have a minor slump. Remember when Marleau was as good as gone a couple of years ago when his numbers dipped for awhile? And then they trade Gooch like two days after signing him to a contract extension. No small wonder why the Sharks can't put it together in the playoffs ... just being part of the organization sucks all the energy out of their systems.

But they WILL be good again this year. The talent is there just like in years past. And then they will blow it in the playoffs. Just like clockwork.

As for me, I sort of okay with the lineup. We lost Richards to New York, but we did gain some players for our defense. Which is what we needed since our defense is what hurt us last season. * 10-14 losing streak * What bothers me is that we did really well in the pre-season, but still ESPN ranks Dallas as 27th in the league. :? Which is fine with me since I rather be under the radar, and surprise alot of teams in the future.

I don't get the eye roll. :?

I rather like this thread and would hate it if we had to drop the gloves. :)

The eyeroll was the joke you made about the San Jose Sharks. Sorry, I should've used the laughing one.

I like this thread too, it would be a shame if we had some fisticuffs on this thread.

I am a Leafs fan. I haven't been satisfied with the Leafs lineup since 1993.
I am also a Coyotes fan and without an owner it is hard to build on the past couple of years successes. Losing Bryzgalov hurts alot for the Coyotes.

So glad we didn't have to go to the ice and then the penalty box!! :D

Technically speaking, of course, the Sharks have made a joke of themselves. I think the lowpoint in the 20-year history of the Sharks was the Ben Eager-Roberto Luongo incident in last year's playoffs ...

But anyway, as for your Stars, I think you'll be happy with the addition of Michael Ryder. He was the biggest loss for the Bruins from last year's Stanley Cup winning team. Not a superstar, but a solid, solid player. I'll always remember the goal I saw him score during the Finals game we attended in June.

That gives me some confidence in Ryder, let's hope it isn't misplaced.
Oh, by the way, I'm sure most of you have already heard about Mike Modano's retirement. I wanted to know what other people thought of it.

Modano will be missed. He is the greatest American hockey player and was a heck of a leader. Anyone who can play hockey with a broken wrist is great in my books.
I am sitting down watching the beginning of the Leafs-Canadiens game. The season has officially begun!! !

I love hockey jerseys. I usually get one a year. Lay night I had on my Doug Gilmour always leafs jersey. I hope the Stars have a good year. Ryder will be a great addition for them.

Same here, the thing one I wished they would change is the design of it. Can't they change it back to the one we had in 1999, or even 2008 to a leser extent. The ones we have now look like basketball jerseys to me.

I think the big change with jerseys was when reebok took over and redesigned everything. I do wish they could go back a few years. That is why most of my favorite jerseys are older ones. I have a gretzky-oilers jersey and a messier-rangers jersey. Those and my gilmour jersey are my all time favorites.

My problem is that you can hardly even see green anywhere on the home jerseys.

I guess I can't complain too much. I am probably getting a Coyotes jersey this year and it is a huge improvement over there old jersey. The coyotes used to have the ugliest jerseys.
I just saw the coyotes are playing the stars play Monday night.

Yes, the Coyotes are playing the Stars on Monday.
