welcome to our cool club, Kazuki :)
just the most basic exercises, if done to sweaty vigor and done everyday, will get the OP where he wants to go in terms of fitness.

Yeah... I know... I'm female btw (though doesn't change much unless suggestions were weightlifting which stereotypically girls would prefer otherwise)

But yeah, I've done the basic high intensity stuff, and can't stand it which is why I'm looking for alternatives or reasons around it.

As it is, yesterday played a little more badminton a little more energetically than normal, and woke up sore all over today and hating life now >____< And that was a LIGHT exercise!! !! !! Today I'm too lethargic to really play well =___=;;;;

*munches on grape tomatoes* I'll get there...

And yeah, I do park car further away to get in the little extra walking, without feeling like s**t~

save the high-intensity stuff for way later. now your goal is just to get your body used to sustained exercise of a moderate intensity which is sufficient to make you sweat and get warm. just get used to that for a few more weeks, then you might want to introduce intervals to your daily routine [ramp up to your maximum intensity that you can handle for about a minute, then slow down to a cruising pace. repeat this several times in a half-hour, then just cruise for another half hour, and you're done for the day. it's not too hard, I can do it and I was at a very unfit place when I started. I believe In you! :thumleft:

I've sorta been doing that....

We play badminton at work for breaks, so been playing 30-45 minute sessions (there are breaks from rotating teams) two to three times a day (Monday to Friday) since July.... I'm still constantly sore from it... and yes, I'm sweating and high heartbeat entire time :X

This has happened before... feel like I get no gain whatsoever. I'd run three times a week for a semester, and capable of running the same distance at end, and just as hurt and out of breath as beginning >______<

Anyways, do have doctor appointment for next week, and keeping track of steps (stepping it up by walking additional places to make a net gain)
I think I'm going to try the "10,000 steps a day" goal

Actually, women can benefit from weightlifting as well. :)

Find a sport you've always wanted to do, even if it's absurd sounding, as long as you can pay for it. Then train for that sport. Then when you're "exercising" you don't think of it as exercising, and you have bigger goals than your own self hate or vanity. What sports did you like as a kid that you figured you weren't athletic enough to do? Find that sport and do it now.

Eventually, you'll be lifting weights, doing sprints, plyometric jumping, etc, to get good at whatever sport you wanna do.

Exercise gets a lot more fun when you're training to do this:

Compared to if you just go "I gotta burn some calories so people who don't like me anyway will think I look skinny." But make your goal in your training improving your athleticism, train like an athlete and you'll probably look like one in the process. Also, think of it as training instead of exercise, I mean technically both words mean the same thing almost, but training implies more of a skill practice or skill improvement as a goal.

Hehe, that's why I put "stereotypically"

I've done some weightlifting and stuff, and don't like it (although don't mind leg machines makes me feel like I R STRONG, but lifting/arms suck xD)
But yeah, was just clarifying my femaleness :P

I have weird genetics where I have super awesome lower body strength but the upper body strength of a 13 year old girl. I know that feel.

You should squat. It's awesome and makes you jump higher. Even if you don't squat, do box jumps and stuff like that. Fun fun. If you do have strong legs, instead of just bench pressing, try push pressing, press overhead with a leg drive.

Also, women are great weightlifters.

You'll grow to like it in no time. :) I suck at leg exercises (I can pendlay row more than I can squat), but I still do exercises that I hate and that I'm no good at.

Had like a 115 bench when I could deadlift over 300.

I'm no expert but I would recommend buying a gym ball and doing some light exercises for a few weeks first then maybe swimming or walking.

While not being an athlete myself, there are some hard-core athletes in my family, and all of them swear by saunaing to keep the post-activity aches away. We have a small dry sauna in our basement, and while I don't use it, my more athletically inclined siblings love it. Go in after you've cooled down from your excersize, and have a good sweat. This will loosen your muscles and help your body expell the lactic acid that builds up in your muscles when you excersize (this is what causes those painful aches the next day). Just make sure you replenish your fluids and electrolytes after, as you loose a lot of these in the heat. Good luck and I hope I've helped!

this would be better in the fall/winter/spring months as there are some folk who can't take all that additional heat after exerting themselves to the point of dripping sweat.

Thirty minutes of moderate physical exercise every day will add 10 years to your lifespan and do wonders for your health. Even walking for 30 minutes a day is good.
