As happy as I was to see the Sharks improve their playoff chances with last night's win at Dallas, I felt kinda bad for Brainfreeze. Not looking good for the Stars ... three points out of the last playoff spot with just two games to go. :(

I felt the same way about the Coyotes improving there chances. I wish all of our teams could make the playoffs.

It's even worse, because the last two teams we faced are Nashville and St. Louis. I can pretty much count the Stars offically out of the playoffs. * prepares for next season *

Yes, they are pretty slim now, even we're in ninth place with two points seperating us from the top eight. The last two teams we face are tough. Also, welcome to the thread! :)

So the playoffs are set. Congrats to the Phoenix Coyotes for eeking out the Pacific Division title. It was a dog fight right to the end.

Round 1 will pit the Sharks against the St. Louis Blues. Tough matchup for San Jose, but anything can happen in the race for the Cup.

Over in the East, the Bruins will square off against the Washington Capitals. Should be an interesting and fun matchup. I love Ovechkin but would even love it more if I got to see his team lose. :hockey:

Both my teams start at exactly the same time (7:30 Eastern) on Thursday night. Unitl then ... 8)

Since Dallas is out... again. I don't have a team to root for in the playoffs, so I really don't have a second team to root for.

One of the advantages of rooting for a team in each Conference. Since Turco signed with the Bruins, you can be an honorary Bruins fan for the playoffs. :) That's basically how I wound up following the Sharks. In 2005, after the B's traded Joe Thornton (my favorite player at the time), I started rooting for San Jose as well. The Sharks are like a spin-off after years of rooting for Boston. It's fun to follow each conference since the style of play is so different. :hockey: :hockey:

Just found out my friend bought tickets for all Coyotes playoff home games. He just called me to invite me to then so it should be a good time. I just hope that we win the series as I think we can beat Chicago.

Well, I am a diehard Wild fan and went to my first game in January, but I can't help but feel disappointed in the 2011-12 NHL season. We were at the top of the Western Conference at one point, and now, we're on the outside looking in :( It's the same story as every year, we play good defense but can't score enough goals!

I know the feeling, I went to my very first Stars * also very first hockey game ever! * last December. Now with my team out of the playoffs... again, I'm dissapointed with how it all crumbled down. Also, welcome the the thread! :) :hockey:

@ Catamount: I think I'll root for St. Louis, since they have my favorite coach. " Hitch " :hockey: The man knows how to coach a hockey team.

The best playoffs series always do have that tension.

Very surprising to see the Kings top the Canucks last night. That's two home playoff games in a row Vancouver has lost now (Game 7 of last year's Cup Finals being the other).

Missed last night's games because of work and will also miss the Bruins and Sharks games tonight. I'm hoping both teams come through for me ... and thank God for DVR playback. :)

At least you get to see it. I'm going to miss half of it because I don't have cable. :x
