It's certainly true that if you must face Villanova, it's best to do so early in the season... they always get much better as the year progresses.

Mason plays Villanova four days after they Dartmouth in Fairfax and Mason opens the season with two back to back home games with Liberty and Dartmouth at the Patriot Center. ESPNU will have the Mason and Villanova showdown. Third game of the season for the Patriot and the Green Machine (Mason's Pep Band) will make those Wildcats into Wild Kittens.

This is my 4th Birthday pic, taken at our first Villanova house, less than 100 yard from the college campus

We lived in Villanova from 1945 to 1952.

This year I have the Sports Tier on cable, which will greatly widen my access to college games. I hope to get more involved this year, back to how it was when I lived in the Philadelphia area in '65-'67 and UHF had just been developed, and I had access to all Big 5 games on TV.

You realize bracketology at this moment is all pre-season based. Wait until non-conference schedules are done because RPI's will drop dramatically once full conference play happens. I have no doubts about Mason with it playing a fast break style now.

#6 Villanova and George Mason played the closest game in their seasons thus far. Nova won 69-68 however Mason's RPI will be boosted because the closeness of the game. #19 Georgia Tech is Mason's next opponent in the Puerto Rico Tip Off. #21 Dayton will give #5 Villanova a run for their money.
