For #3, I'd say it's a toss-up between the Northwest and Atlantic. Both always seem to produce a team each year that is a serious contender for the Cup. The Central Division has some good history with two Original Six teams (Detroit and Chicago), but the rest of the Division is pretty bad.

I'm leaning more towards the Atlantic Division for me. * I'm currently watching Stars v.s. Blues as I'm typing this, and I loved how the Stars played in the first period. Hope this continues throughout the season. *

Looking forward to seeing some Sharks hockey this weekend. They play three of the next four nights including two against the hated Ducks.

Also hoping the Bruins can solve their case of Stanley Cup hangover before they dig themselves into too much of a hole. The Blackhawks are on tap for Saturday night. Should be fun to watch the last two Cup winners square off against one another! :D

What's going on with the Bruins? I expected a bit of a let down, but not this much.

I'm not too terribly worried; Boston is skating well and getting some decent scoring chances. The B's are just having a tough time putting the puck in the net thanks in part to some good goalie performances so far. I also think they need to get used to the idea that everyone is going to bring their A-game against them this year.

It was nice to see the Coyotes play a good game last night. I am excited for tomorrow I get to go see the home opener against the Jets so I hope they play another solid game.

I think the Bruins will recover soon enough. They have had solid goaltending. They just need to put the puck into the net.

Have fun, neerdowell! Nothing beats going to an NHL game in person. Should be cool to see the Jets as well.

I'm thinking about going to agame as well, either to a Ducks game or an Oilers game. What do you guys think?

Oooh. Either team would be good to see in person. One of the most memorable NHL games I've been to was a Ducks - Bruins game right after the Thornton trade. I was kind of disappointed about the trade but the game turned out to be awesome. My boy Bergeron scored the game-winner in OT to give the Bruins a 4-3 win.

Ducks - Bruins, January 2006

I think I would go to the oilers game. My reason for that is there is the Ducks are a better team than the Oilers. When I go to a game live i really want to see my team win and I think playing against the Oilers there would be a better chance of that happening.
Although at the end of the day either game would be great.

So you got me thinking about how my teams have done overall in games I've seen live. Since I started taking my stepson to NHL games in 2003, the Bruins are 4-3, including two overtime winning performances and a win in the Stanley Cup Finals. :D Meanwhile, the Sharks are 2-2 when we've seen them live. One of the best Sharks games I've seen live was actually a 6-5 loss to the Devils in 2009. I guess you just never know ... I like to go to games against opponents I find interesting in one way or the other. The only time where I ever truly cared about the outcome was Game 4 against the Canucks in June, 2011. It was easily the greatest sporting event I've ever attended and the "W" was huge that night.

Rooting for your Coyotes tonight.

I was leaning towards the Oilers game, it would probably lead to a Stars win. * I know I shouldn't say that about Oilers, but it's too easy.*

Great game last night. Winnipeg played bad during the first period but played decent for the next 2 periods. It was a fun atmosphere as there were quite a few Winnipeg fans in the building. Phoenix looked good though and played a great game.

I'm so happy right now, Rangers are in the World Series, and Dallas are 4-1. :)

The Leafs took there first loss of the season last night. It was an entertaining game and at least the Leafs picked up a point. Although my ridiculous dream of the undefeated dream has come to an end.
