I have been prescribed Fluvoxamine (Fluvox) by my Doctor for my anxiety and OCD symptoms. Has anyone been on the drug, and if so, how has it affected you?

Just be aware of what some of the side effects are. My son took it and on day 5 woke up vomiting and also starting having these dark suicidal thoughts that he coudn't get out of his head.

Thats not to say the same will happen to you everyone is different. Was told after that aspies should take the lowest doses possible.

I've done some research on the drug. It's very strange how one neurochemical can produce such multiple and bizarre effects. In theory SSRIs look wonderful. Not so in the real world. Some patients report having nightmares, aggression, emotional numbness, hyperactivity, memory and attention deficits, sexual dysfunction, numerous digestive issues, suicidal tendencies, and a few, ironically, become MORE anxious and depressed.

I have started on fluvoxamine two days ago at 50mg, to increase to 100mg after seven days. It has currently only produced slight nausea and a very slight increase in perspiration after physical activity. No sign of the usual anxiety I get during the evening, and hopefully it will blunt any terrible intrusive thoughts and feelings that come 'round (my OCD is 'pure obsessional').

Will continue posting - if I don't turn into a zombie beforehand...
