I'm considering acupuncture as a treatment for my depression, and was wondering if anyone else has tried it. Any pros or cons that anyone might have?

Thanks!

I haven't tried acupuncture for depression or any other psychological conditions such as insomnia, etc, but I have tried it for my painful right shoulder. The therapist tried it out on me and gave me a 50 minute massage with 10 minutes acupuncture instead of a 60min massage, due to the acupuncture I was completely painfree for 4 days.

Well, it can be a strong placebo I suppose. If you believe it will do some good, it will. And I'm not making fun of it, the placebo effect is potent and quite real. My intense skeptic nature makes me immune to any type of placebo though, unless someone fools me, which is cool if it does me good. I do experience psychosomatic symptoms from some form of hypochondria that's generated by the intense anxiety felled upon me by being forced to work a job I find boring (too easy) in an environment that poison to someone with AS (open area, lots of people); so I suppose that's like the evil counterpart of placebo.

I've been considering that, too. Unfortunately, it's very expensive, and my insurance won't cover it. Otherwise, I would.
