As some of you may or may not know, in a few posts I have mentioned of having been pulled out of PE a year or so ago after a somewhat scarring event that happened involving another student (Gruesome, but nothing explicit I assure you). It involved making a mockery of me in front of the whole class, but all that is from the past now. The "Special Needs" department won a war with the PE department and, thus, I no longer do PE. The good news? Two lessons a week to just relax. Bad news? The only exercises I do in a week is from lesson-to-lesson. My health is quickly depleting. I will no longer be able to get a GSCE for PE. My class all looks relatively fit and toned, yet I still have that large gut of mine. The last time I weighed myself, at 14, I was 10 or 11 stone.

This pretty much fully shows my concerns - I feel that I need Cardio - and fast. However, I have a fear of public places, groups and people as a whole (as well as a fear of being mocked for exercising/running at my weight outside of home) and would have no idea where I would begin training anyway. Quite honestly, I have no idea what I am asking for. Perhaps tips, motivation and/or an exercise regime that I can follow that can be completed in the safety of my own home? Sadly, I once had a treadmill but it was disposed of after it was rarely used.

Exercise videos are a good way to do cardio in the privacy of your own home. I like to borrow yoga DVDs from my public library.

Remember to stretch before and after. Also start light (warm up) and finish light (cool down).
Exercise DVDs are good.

I use Step-Areobics some. I go for walks, even in my house, which has a lot of stairs.
Sometimes I use an exercise bike. I can write down the results "40 minuites at level six- X miles" and challange myself to try to better it next time. I'm thinking of getting a rowing machine.

Nowdays I usually watch something on TV or my dvd player as I exercise. It passes the time. Once I read a book while on the exercise bike.

Your heart rate and how hard you feel you're working will tell you if you're doing cardio. DON"T be afraid to take it easy on yourself in the early days.

Exercise steps are relativly cheap. Some DVDs are too. Rowing machines and exercise bikes have a wide price range. I buy cheap, perhaps with a loss in quality.

Hope this helps.

A mini-trampoline is fairly inexpensive and reduces impact on joints. Skipping rope is supposed to be a great and inexpensive cardio workout as well, although I have never gotten the hang of it. Hope this helps!

Walking 1-2 hours a day is very effective and healthy. Exercise doesn't need to be fancy or expensive. When I was doing the walking my endurance went way up, and weight went down.
