Yay it turns out I don't have Rheumatoid arthritis!! !

So I went to the rheumatology department after waiting months for the appointment (urgent...yeah right ) and the doctor said that because there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with my other joints I in fact have... drum roll please...Ankylosing spondylitis!! !
I'm not exactly happy with the news but I think at least it's easier to manage although it does mean more exercise.

Well, a clean bill of health would have been preferable, but I'm glad you're happy-ish with the diagnosis. I'm sorry to hear about the illness, though. I did a bit of research into Ankylosing spondylitis for a paper on skeletal pathology this semester and while it's not RA, it's still not a cake-walk. Of course, the burial I was researching it for was from a period when there wouldn't have been treatment options available, so my guy was in pretty bad shape.
