I learned while watching the Turkish Grand Prix that Austin, Texas is getting a Formula 1 track in 2012. I live two hours southwest of there in boring San Antonio. Well, it's not so boring anymore now that there is a park designed for everyone of all needs. Anyway, the track will be a purpose built facility east of austin inside an 800 acre plot and will replace Indianapolis as the current track of the US Grand Prix. Formula 1 hasn't raced in the US since 2007. I cannot wait as this will be an opportunity for me to finally see a Formula 1 race. I've seen Monster truck racing, stock car racing, dirtbike and sand drag racing, but not Formula 1. I have been watching Formula 1 since 2009 and completely ditched NASCCAR as my favorite form of motorsport.

Welcome to one of the most expensive sports on Earth!! The more F1 tracks there are outside Europe the happier I will be because it spreads F1 to new audiences.
