Does anyone else do low carb? I love it. High fat, medium protein, pretty low carbs. My autism is muchly easier to deal with now. Fewer meltdowns, more focus. Plus I love to cook and so it was an all new area from which to learn foods.

mine is high protein, low carb and low fat. nothing white. i miss white. but my health is much better, my clothes fit largely like they did when i was in the army, i move more easily, and i look better. all this compensates for the lack of tongue happy.

You have to be careful on high protein. It burns out your kidneys.

i drink lots of fluids, partially to keep my kidneys flushed out and partly to fill my largely empty stomach so it won't growl as much.

Glad it works for you :) I personally think low fat is bloody dangerous as your body uses fats to build almost everything, especially neurologically, but if it works for you... *shrugs*

Ideally, I'd like to eat a diet with more fats. I think high fat diets are brilliant. Good fats, that is. Quality, vegetarian fatty foods are a tad expensive though. I like walnuts, avocado, coconut oil, olive oil, eggs, flax and hemp seed.

I try to stay away from sugar, including sweet fruits; I used to be a fruitaholic. I still eat rice and oats though, usually have a serving of one or the other a day.

I'm on a strict high protein, medium fat, medium carb diet, 'cept when I'm in footie training, then it's carb gel all the way.

A good fatty food for veggies is milk, technically not a food but cheese is, and thats pretty fatty. Buttered noodles also have alot of fat (and carbs).

I tried low carb once but it really doesn't work when you're training 180 mins of football and you have no glucose stored cause of a low carb diet. But thats just me.

My diet is basically: Very high carb (almost all of it rice), medium vegetables, medium protein/fat. It's working out beautifully for me. Until some months back, it was higher in protein and lower in carbs. I have felt much healthier recently. Of course, I eat very little "junk."

Yes. I'm not much of a junk food eater anymore.

I found I can eat bread from Great Harvest without getting sick (in small, rare amounts) because they grind their own wheat and then sour dough it!! ! It's very exciting LOL.
