Bottom line is that if you have low testosterone for your age group, you would benefit from bringing it up to the level it should be. People who try to do that without knowing what all of their blood test levels are, will get their hormones all SNAFU'd, and have all kinds of problems. The problem is that most insurance won't pay for hormone testing. See a doctor who deals with hormone replacement therapy... Might be the best thing you ever did. More young men that we could imagine, have low T, and don't ever get diagnosed.
I am a bodybuilder, and I am on hormone replacement therapy. I'll tell you that I've been lifting since I was 14 or 15, and NEVER got where I wanted to be until I got my hormones to the proper levels for a man my age.
"Steroids" is a nasty word. It refers to testosterone cypionate (natural hormone), and various forms of artificial and animal-derived testosterone. HGH (human growth hormone) is the other main ingredient to growth & healing. Both are already in your body, but could be way low or way high. When a doctor gives these substances, it's no more "steroids abuse" than an Aspie taking 5mg of Adderall is "abusing Speed/amphetamines".
It's sure sad how society puts branded labels on things.... There are people who buy "steroids" and shoot them without having any idea what they're doing, and no idea what their levels are. One friend of mine; a competitive lifter and world-competitive surfer, died at age 29 from "steroid abuse". Please know what you're doing, and follow a doctor's orders to bring hormone levels to optimum levels... Don't just guess.

What about testosterone progenitors? They aren't steroids themselves, but act on the testicles to stimulate natural testosterone production. Also, where do I find a hormone replacement doctor?
That's awesome about getting down to 5.7%. What kind of diet do you use?
