GF/CF, but not for the usual reason
Hello, I am a diagnosed Aspie, and I often hear about the benefits of a GF/CF diet, though it is a case-by-case basis, and I would like some opinions on my own situation. For most of my life I've been thin and had a lot of energy, and then when I hit highschool I grew to 6 feet tall but stayed about the same weight, and at 19 I am still the same weight, currently hovering between 115 and 120 pounds. My metabolism is nuts, I am hungry literally 24/7 despite eating at least as much as a normal person my age and having a lifestyle more akin to a sloth than a human. I once ate 3 double cheeseburgers and was not full. I also have issues with depression and anxiety and sleep, often because of this. I also have inconsistent bowel movements and problems with gas, and i rarely feel comfortable in my own skin. I had a blood test for thyroid problems (I suspected hyperthyroidism, the opposite of hypothyroidism), and my doctor said "everything looks absolutely normal". Sometimes my sleep problems and sensitive stomach with hunger make me sick. Food allergies exist on my mother's side of the family, including my aunt (GF/CF), cousin (Leaky Gut Syndorme) and mother herself (Lactose), while my dad has a lean build and eats a lot and displays many mental traits of Asperger's, though not diagnosed.
I've heard a lot of stories about what the GF/CF diet can do for people with these kind of mental and physical problems, and I want to ask if anyone knows of it helping people who rather than needing to lose weight cannot gain it if their life depended on it. Which it does. Thoughts?
