Since I do am not able to correctly identify anything other than extreme feelings of hunger or fullness, and because I cannot stick to an ideal food schedule (because I get absorbed in my obsessions and lose track of time), I think the only possible way for me to lose anything at all is to go back to strictly counting calories.

So....if I am really fat now, and I eat 1000 to 1200 a day, will I be able to lose? Everywhere I read says I have to eat more than 2000, but I don't want to maintain. I want to lose, and I want to lose a lot. I want to be down to 140 at least by next June. So, will that work?

It is unhealthy to eat below 1200 calories a day and it's a surefire way to gain it all again due to how the body works under hunger stress. Normally you'll have to eat 1500 calories and keep a proper workout schedule to loose weight.

So anywhere between 1200 and 1500.

I can recommend this site Caloriecount. It's got tools to help calculate how many you should eat plus plenty of other tips.

Hope it helps and good luck :D

Thanks for the information! Yesterday I ate around 1522, but today only got in just over 1000 (I lost track of time). Generally I will try to keep it between 1200 and 1500 though, which I guess is quite a bit lower than the maintenance calories are for me anyway. I have lost 2 pounds since yesterday. Not much yet, but I little start anyway, so I hope it just keeps going down. 138 to go *sigh*.....
