After a few days of not shaving, I get a few itchy spots around my goatee area that, when I shave becomes all red and weepy (leaking fluid). I'm unconvinced it's not ringworm. They don't appear to be ring-shaped at all. Just shapeless red, itchy parches.

Don't know what I should do.

Uhhh, I'm guessing ingrown hairs that have gotten a bit inflamed. But enjoy your ringworm fantasies!

ingrown hairs are more tiny spots. These are more large patches of pink.

...it's not like I want specific diseases.

Aw! I'm still voting inflammation/patch of ingrown hairs. I don't think ringworm likes the face, does it?

Um, where are we shaving there, chief?

P.S. This is your chin goatee, right? I don't know what you kids get up to, these days.

ringworm likes skin no matter where it is.

And I'm 38.

Hmmm, maybe I'm thinking of roundworm.

Do you have any topical corticosteroids or antifungals? I wonder if Athlete's foot spray would work?

I don't have any of those.

And it's a misnomer about ringworm - it's not a worm at all. It's a fungus. (as you can see from the wiki article)

I can pick up some OTC ointment or something to help out I suppose.

Sometimes this is called Barber's Itch, which is actually a term for anything red, weepy, or itchy that occurs in that area. It could be from a tinea like fungus, bacteria or both. You need to see a dermatologist.
