(and btw, im referring to american football, not that i have anything against english football).

NCAA Football is my favorite sport to watch on TV. The traditions, camraderie(sp?), fan support, and rivalries just dont get any better than this. Going to games is a blast too. Its the crisp autumn air on a saturday afternoon while the fans go nuts and party and the marching band plays on. It's rocky-top tennessee, hook-em horns in texas, the sea of red in lincoln, nebraska, the 12th man at Texas A&M, The "dotting-of-the-i" at OhIo State, Between the Hedges in Georgia, The worlds largest cocktail party when the Bulldogs and Gators meet. The Alabama-Auburn Iron Bowl.

Its THEE Game, the greatest rivalry in american sports, when Ohio State and Michigan meet on the 3rd saturday of november... an experience as american as apple pie.

So, if you would, reply by telling us your favorite college football team. Its that time of year again, and i love it.

Mine is, The Ohio State Buckeyes. Yes, they are ranked #1 right now and beat Texas pretty convincingly last week. I have been a buckeye fan pretty much all my life, through the good and bad. So excited about this season and how the rest of it plays out.

Virginia Tech all the way. Been a fan of them since I lived in Virginia and the Redskins sucked. They're the class of the ACC this year, going to a BCS bowl and it wouldn't surprise me if they went undefeated. If you don't believe me, good luck convincing anyone that the vaunted offense of Florida State is going to knock them off. Or maybe it's those powerful Hurricanes that will do it. Or Clemson, they always live up to expectations! I'll continue knocking off teams if I need to.

Grew up watching them, and I still have my 2002 OSU National Champions shirt. GO BUCKEYES. I think they can do it, but we do have some tough opponents on the schedule this year. Should be interesting to see what happens

Lifelong Texas Longhorn here. Grew up in Austin, Texas, graduated from UT, and season ticket holder since 2001. Sure was tough losing to y'all, but at least it was early in the season and 'exposed' some issues in our secondary that will hopefully be addressed before we play Oklahoma. Good luck the rest of the season.

As an aspie, being a Longhorn fan has had some unexpected benefits. My relationship with my NT brother is the best it has ever been mostly due to Texas football. We fought constantly growing up and did not speak for years after he went out of state for college. His school didn’t have a football team, so having grown up in Austin he supported the Horns. A few years ago we started conversing about football and were surprised how much we had in common. Now he flies back to Austin a few times a year to attend games with my wife and I. We also go on at least one road trip a year. Last year there were four great ones- Columbus for tOSU (BTW- y’all treated us like crap. Never had so many beer cans thrown at us.), Dallas for OU, Houston for the Big XII championship game, and LA for the Rose Bowl. The greatest thing of all about college football for me is tailgating. Tailgates are like heaven on earth. In addition to the beer and BBQ, everyone is an aspie for a few hours! Even the NTs pretend to be aspies, at least when talking about football. Obsessing and strange idiosyncratic behavior are perfectly OK, and strongly encouraged. It’s the one big social setting where I am completely comfortable and happy. I love it!

I would like to take this opportunity to point out that both the Hokies and the Hokies NFL branch(otherwise known as the Atlanta Falcons) are undefeated.

But Frank Beamer still has that...thing on his neck, and Michael Vick is still an awful QB. A great RB, but an awful QB.

Michael Vick is a running quarterback that has taken on the longevity of a running back while at the same time getting the ball in his hands every play. It's like the 1800's when no one knew how to pass. He gets the ball every single time, passes it 20 or so times to keep the defense honest, and piles up(between him and Dunn) 300 rushing yards a game. Don't mess with success.

I wasn't saying it wasn't successful. I am just saying the Falcons shouldn't have given him a ten-year contract.

Our coach is an idiot; tried to change Vick into a pocket passer. Vick sucked under this method. Apparently sometime last week, Vick got tired of it and started running naked bootlegs. This was not in the playbook, but worked quite well. Mora Jr. can't do anything about it, so everything is good.

Even if they don't win, ALWAYS stick around after the game for the band's '5th Quarter' show, too, you will not be disappointed!

That said, I would be even more of a fan if the NCAA would set up a 'record' based championship playoff system for I-A football, sort of like the NFL has, with the winners of each conference, the top independant (consider the independants to be a 'conference' for playoff purposes) plus enough wild cards to fill out a record-seeded single-elimination grid.

The Bowl games, already bastardized by the 'BCS' morass, would be the playoff games with the championship game to be played on the saturday before the Super Bowl.

BTW, we here in northeast Wisconsin do want to thank the fine folks at Ohio State for sending us Packer fans that linebacker (A. J. Hawk). He is already on his way to becoming the NFL's next defensive holy terror, showing a potential to make it to the level of the late Ray Nitschke, himself another Big Howevermanythereare alum (Illinois).
