Hello all,

I was curious if there are people on this board that did track and field. I was watching the world championship this weekend and thought it was compelling to me that some events didn't require team work or communication.

As an Aspie, I really like the 800 meter run and would like to take it up as a sport to train and compete in. It doesn't require as much super explosiveness like 100 M nor does it require super endurance like marathon. Also I really the running on a nice track as it is smooth and nice to navigate around.

I have a sprained knee right now but will heal and start informing myself on training etc...

I am almost 32 and plan to compete in the Master's division at the appropriate age.

Anyone else does running or any Track and Field sport? If so, could you share your experiences?

Thanks,
The45

PS: I was into basketball obsessively for many many years and was frustrated with my lack of success because I couldn't play with others (Aspie symptom of lack of empathy). Though my individual skills were decent because i worked on them obsessively like a real Aspie would :)

*raises hand* I am doing track and field in school! I did the shotput last year, I am not much of a runner because I have a sucky patella though.
