The neurologist told me that this cyst is basically a collection of spinal fluid. He mentioned that there are no spinal fluid leaks and no damage to the brain. He assured me not to worry and that this benign arachnoid cyst can never become malignant and if they found a malignancy in the future...that it would not have anything to do with this cyst. The problem is practically everyday, I have been getting intracranial pressure. It is like there is this intense pressure in my skull and sometimes I get pressure behind my left eye and I am not sure if these are connected or if I just need to wear contacts or glasses. I am thinking that I should possibly get an MRI or have this cyst removed if though it is benign because of the constant pressure I am suffering from? Is there anyone on here that has or has had this before? What did you do? Are there any doctors on here? I will be contacting my doctor again asap. I would appreciate any help.

Confused...how would glasses or contacts relieve pressure on your eye?

Wow, bless your heart. :D

Okay, it sounds like your doctor is at least a little good in that he told you it's not cancer and it will never develop into cancer.

Now, the pressure behind the left eye, straight up, that kind of sounds like migraine. I AM NOT A DOCTOR. Just a few snippets I've heard and read about migraine, or probably can be any one of two dozen other things. Might be entirely unrelated to cyst.

Doctors tend not to be great communicators. I've had some success writing things on one half of one piece of paper, maximum of three sentences or three questions, and simply handing the piece of paper to the doctor.

Well, I have an astigmatism and I know that people who need glasses, strain their eyes more to see, which triggers eye strain and sometimes migraines, pressure, etc. I had an eye test years ago and they told me I had an astigmatism, but my most recent eye test revealed that my vision was perfect...so that was a little confusing. My friend wears glasses and he told me that he didn't wear them for years and he told me that he used to suffer from the same symptoms that I do before he started wearing glasses. He said that the head pressure and pressure behind his left eye went away once he started wearing glasses. I will have to have my eyes checked out again in the future.

There are at least two sources of inexactness. Eyes do change over time, and plus eye doctors don't always get it right.

I think the standard advice is a once-a-year eye exam. And you can occasionally see another eye doctor for a second opinion kind of thing.
