Does anyone know anything about myelofibrosis? Is anybody going through it or has known anybody that went through it or is going through it.

My close friend has it and I've become interested in researching about it. I know that it's a very rare type of blood cancer and it can never be cured, once you have it, you have it for life. It can also turn into leukemia in some cases. My friend is currently going through chemotherapy right now. I went to one of her doctor's appointments and he told her about this drug that would help with her symptoms but it's $5000 a month! That's crazy and her disability drug plan will definitely not finance it. My friend is a very brave girl, she gets bad anxiety but we help each others with our anxieties. I looked at some websites and it said most people only have 5-10 years to live when they get it but some people can live with it for decades. My friend has had it for 7 years now and she does constantly have pain but she still seems pretty healthy and she eats healthy.

I don't know, I guess I just want somebody to talk to that knows something about this.
