hey everyone, maybe someone here can tell me something other than cancer.

first of all, my left tonsil has been growing a bit larger an my right one these past few weeks or months, i dont really know they're very asymmetrical at this point

PS: my tonsils have always been large but the left one has never been this big.

when i discovered it a month ago i just decided to forget about it because i probably was just going to get a small infection, here i am 4 weeks later and its still the same and to top it off theres a lump on the left side of my throat, about grape sized, limited mobility and kinda rubbery, must be a swollen lymph nod. It doesn't hurt (well thats not true, it hurts right now but i think its Psycho-symptomatic,)

Of course Google is no help, it just told me Tonsillitis and Tonsil Cancer (which is more common amongst people over 50 and i have no other symptoms) Im going to bring it up with my GP in a week but i keep trying to forget about it but that google searches keep giving me nightmares, does anyone else know what causes Tonsils to become enlarged along with lymph nodes? i have no fever, no illness of any kind.

That kind of cancer, like you said, is more common in people over 50....and who smoke.

I don't think you smoke.

You should get it checked out as soon as possible.

It seems unlikely that it's cancer, though.

Probably some kind of tonsillitis.

You should get it checked out, though.

I'm not a doctor but my guess, based on experience, the picture and having grown up in a family prone to it would be classic tonsillitis.
