I was bought up on food from my Granny's kitchen that in some cases was a good 10 years out of date (cans) - I wouldn't worry. A little bit of bad stuff builds your immune system!

I read something about a significant portion of food waste in the West being because people confused "best by" dates with
expiration dates.
I don't worry too much about it, either- I figure food comapanies play it extra-conservative with the exp dates, anyway, lest someone get poisoned and try to sue.
