It's really really weird, ok?
I keep getting these downright NASTY headaches.

Headache 1: one month ago on one half of my head.

Headache 2: two weeks ago - Felt like someone was shooting me in the head with a spinal tap needle. You know, a really long one. It would happen for flashes at a time, and came unpredictably, and froze me.

Headache 3: Last night. Worst **** headache of my life. Started before I went to bed and hours later woke me up. I was literally screaming. I could barely breathe, and when I opened my eyes I saw these bright blue flashes of light that slowly disappeared and let me see again.
I wanted to go to the ER but any movement made it worse....

I'm kind of worried now...anyone had these that bad?

GET TO THE DOCTOR NOW!! !! ! those could very well be warning signs of small strokes.

Those sound migraine-ish, though they could be other things. I've had the flashes of steel-spike-rammed-through-my-skull type pain, but for me it's rare and only lasts 5 minutes or so (thank god). Migraines sometimes have an "aura" (<-- actual medial term) where you see shimmery, jagged patterns that slowly go away. I get "silent" migraines (where I get the visual effects but no pain) and I lose most of my visual field for about 45 minutes.

Anyway, a doctor could help to figure out if it's something dangerous, and if it isn''t and is just migraines there are meds that can sometimes help to prevent them. And also, I've heard of people being totally incapacitated by pain from migraines and needing to go to the ER and get heavy-duty pain killers like demerol (but it can be risky because ER doctors can't physically test for migraines, so they tend to suspect you're faking it to get drugs). So, they can be as painful as you're describing.

It could be migraines like Apple_in_my_Eye suggested. I got migraines as a kid & mine hadn't been super bad compared to other people but I know migraines can get as bad as your describing. When I had them I found it helped to keep the room dark & quiet & rest the part of my head that was hurting against my pillow & not move much. My grandma gets migraines too sometimes & she has meds for when they get bad. It would be good to talk to a doctor about the headaches because bad headaches can also be caused by sinus problems(I get bad sinus headaches sometimes & sinus medication helps) or by stress & high blood pressure(my mom was getting stress headaches when was working & she started taking blood pressure medication because her's was high & it helps)
