Please, for all those out there, who have had their ASD diagnosis officially confirmed, would you kindly share your stories with me?

How long did the process take?
What did you have to do?
Did you have to pay or was there special funding involved that had to be requested?
Where di you have it done?
How long did it take on the day?

And anything else you may want to add.

I am going through hell, and after 5 months, and a referral being made to The Maudsley, I was told my GP wouldnt request the funding as I had asked to transfer surgeries. It was just my luck, because I came to the end of my tether after 5 months and it so happens that it was after I had put in the process to transfer GP surgeries, that they were then willing to ask for the funding. Now, I have been told I would have to start all over again with the new GP at the new surgery.

I am extremely depressed, off work with the same, and feel like all I do is hit brick walls.

Any information whatsoever is appreciated.

Thank you everyone.

surely as your notes all get passed over they have all the information already at the new GP and it's an easy task for them to request?

Whirlingmind I hope so. It would seem to be the most logical thing. But I am extremely anxious about it all as I often witness that the system doesn't always operate on a logical consensus.

An experiences welcome. Thanks.
