Anybody have issues with this?

I have good vitamin-levels, I'm young and healthy and exercise regularly yet my hands are always so damn cold. I can wear thick gloves but it takes forever to make any difference since my hands are cold to the core. They do not seem to generate enough heat to heat up the gloves so it does not matter that they are very well isolated  The only thing that helps is to sit with my hands inside my pants resting against my thighs, but that's not very attractive

I can think of two possibilities.
1. low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) - make sure you are eating regularly and eating protein.
2. hypothyroidism - low thyroid function can cause feeling cold despite being wrapped up in bundles of clothes.

But I'm not cold in general it's just my hands. My feet tend to be cold to but not to the extent that it bothers me.

It is definitely a problem with the circulation in your extremities, but the cause would be impossible to determine from what you wrote. If you have no other issues it could be Raynaud's disease, here's a letter to an health-advice site from someone with exactly the same question, that also thinks of themselves as otherwise "healthy" and exercise a lot:

So it could be that, or some kind of underlying heart problem, or anemia (there are other kinds than just iron-anemia, if you have good iron-levels), or what charlottez said.

ETA: Stress can cause or aggravate it too.

my hands are always cold and have been all my life. i've never considered it more than a social problem because it always gets commented on when i shake hands. i've had complete physicals as a matter of routine and thyroid, blood count, etc. are okay. it's not raynauds unless your fingers turn red, white, and blue (i forget the order) when exposed to cold. my circulation is fine. i just have cold hands. they are cold right now.

Thanks for the links and answers guys. I will try to take my omega 3 supplements more regularly, maaaaybe it will help.

No my fingers do not change color! 8O

Do you really think it's worth seeing my doctor for this? I'm afraid he will think of me as a hypochondriac since I recently were there for some diffuse stomach problems.

I don't know if it's worth going to the doctor or not, that depends on how you feel about it and how cold they get. If the doctor is unsympathetic, try to see someone else. As cathylynn said, there are those that have cold hands and don't worry about it. Always get things checked out if they appear out of the blue, though.

No, I have had it for a very long time. But then again I have never checked my heart or anything like that.

My hands are always cold too. A more socially acceptable way, I've found, of warming them up in public is to put them to the back of my neck, which is usually warm. :)

I have Raynaud's.

Are you now sitting with your hands on your neck?
