I don't know whether it's really appropriate to post this here or not, but doing a search by myself doesn't seem to be giving many results. :?

Within the last week I've had an issue with my bladder - specifically, it feels as if it is "sagging" and always under pressure despite not needing to urinate. I'm certain it's not kidney stones, nor is there any blood in my urine. I've tried searching various websites for info and the closest thing seems to be bladder retention, but I'm still uncertain. It says these types of things typically happen to males 40+, but I'm 21. Could weight be a factor? I've been trying to lose weight for a couple years now(started at 250), but have not been able to be very active lately. I currently weigh about 200 pounds. If it matters, I'm about 5'5'' tall. I tend to eat pretty healthy; I only drink water and coffee without sugar, and stay away from sweets. But then it was just easter so I did have some stuff then...could sugar shock be part of it?? The last thing I can think of is whether it's related to any STDs, and I'm a virgin, so yeah, I can't imagine it's anything like that. Thanks for reading and any helpful answers will be appreciated!

Oh dear this is so embarrassing. Had the same problem.

Maybe you want to see a doctor or something. I am going to get autist diagnosis soon and then see a doctor about this.

Are you on any meds?

Changes in dose or even brand can give you different side effects.

I have had a bladder disease for over 10 years called IC (Interstitial Cystitis) It is pressure in bladder. It feels like I didn't completely empty it. Constantly having to go. Anything acidic makes it more painful so I have to stay away from most sodas, OJ, cranberries, strawberries, chocolate, coffee, tomato sauce, alcohol. Even certain breads can irritate me. Less ingredients a brand has the better. Do you notice when you eat something it feels more painful? Maybe see a urologist to make sure.

It's fairly easy to get a bladder/urinary tract infection even if you're not sexually active. Kidney stones are always a possibility, but UNlikely at age 21 and very unlikely if you haven't had back pains and sharp pain/blood when trying to pee.

I'd suggest seeing a doctor (just a regular doctor is fine; no need for a urologist at this point), and they can tell from a urine sample if you have an infection or not. If you do, 5 days of antibiotics likely will fix it.

Now as for the cause, Besides sexual activity, other causes for UTIs can include if you've had any kind of recent accident or activity that got a bunch of sand or dirt in your shorts, that would do it... There is a possibility that wearing loose boxers can lend to the possibility of getting a bladder infection because certain parts might brush against the boxers, which when in other positions, might have brushed non-clean parts of the body. It's disgusting to think about, but it's true even for the cleanest hygiene freaks. Boxers with less room, or briefs, don't have that problem so much. The urethra and bladder are two of the most susceptible parts of the body to catch infections.

You should probably get various medical conditions ruled out. Beyond that, it sounds like it might be a permutation of pelvic floor dysfunction, for which there is physical therapy and occupational therapy for.

I read of people describing somewhat similar side-effects due medication for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia. I felt something sort of similar when I was taking Avodart everyday for male-pattern baldness. It diapered after I reduced it to half a pill everyday. I could be way off track thou; way you described it is just sort of similar in some ways. It's best to see a doctor.

Cranberry juice will help, try drinking plenty of water as well, at least 6-8 glasses a day.
