Title says it all. I use whey protein here (supplemented with vitamins and minerals); not because it has any magical properties, but because it's a cheap and convenient way to get enough protein everyday. I consider starting creatine again—even though it makes me damn thirsty all the time.

Schizandra extract pills
500mg Vitamin C
4G fish oil a day
Bu Nao Wan "Cerebral Tonic" Chinese medicine pills.
Jia Wei Xiao Yao Wan "Free & Easy Wanderer Plus" basically a Chinese medicine anti-depressant/anxiety pill
1/3 dose of some magnesium/zinc/D3 supplement (I probably get an OK amount in my diet)
Multivitamin every other day at night.

I have Siberian ginseng, Red Ginseng, and American ginseng in various forms on hand. I also take Astragalus if I'm sick, it works well. I have eucommia bark tea I take, it's a SARM tea, indicated use is back ache.

Basically a bunch of Chinese herbs.

Starbucks coffee, anything except Pike's Place.

That's a supplement? Right?

None. Most people can get all of the nutrients you need from their diet. I do, however, make sure to eat some Greek yoghurt and some almonds most days to increase the amount of protein I get.

I take about 300mg of omega-3 fatty acids in the morning, I feel like it makes a difference. I take melatonin at night because it is friggin hard to get to sleep.

Magnesium, about 150 mg/day. This somehow helps me concentrating. I work in a molecular biology lab, and since I started using this, I am usually actually able to follow a protocol through, without mixing up the samples or whatever... Otherwise my concentration problems are not so much of an issue, office work just gets slower as I have to check and correct everything twice over.

Sometimes a multivitamin/mineral supplement in winter, if I take too long to recover from an infection.

1,000 mg of time-release vitamin C. Your body can only absorb so much at once. If you don't use the time-release tablets, you're basically just paying for expensive urine. Other than vitamin C, I just eat real food. There's no point in clogging your diet with a shedload of supplements when nature already provides them for you. Avoid things that come packaged in nice little rectangular boxes and you'll be fine.

Whey protein if there's nothing else to eat or if I'm in the mood for it. I just started 5htp for depression again. I quit the first time after running out. The major chain grocery store I got it from sold a 50mg/50cap bottle for $20 and it was take 3 or 4 a day. So that was waaaaaaay out of my price range. You can get Prozac for cheaper. Luckily a supplement store opened up and they sell a 100mg/60cap bottle for $12. I also take Kirkland brand multivitamins.

I should really start taking more types though. It's just money is a strong factor.

I take 5000ius of vitamin D3 a day, plus will get some sensible sun exposure when possible. That helps keep me at a safe testing level between 50 to 70ng/ml.

I take about 2000 mg of omega 3 a day, with a multi-vitamin.

I drink coffee in the morning and I'm looking into maybe taking 5-HTP sometime soon.

something I found on web md about 5-htp-

Don’t use 5-HTP until more is known. 5-HTP might be UNSAFE. Some people who have taken it have come down with eosinophilia-myalgia syndrome (EMS), a serious condition involving extreme muscle tenderness (myalgia) and blood abnormalities (eosinophilia). Some people think the EMS might be caused by an accidental ingredient (contaminant) in some 5-HTP products. But there is not enough scientific evidence to know if EMS is caused by 5-HTP, a contaminant, or some other factor. Until more is known, avoid taking 5-HTP.

I take a whole host of vitamin & mineral supplements.
My morning dose is:
super strength horseradish and garlic x1 (for hay fever and immune boost)
sustained release multi & antioxidants x1
omega triple strength concentrated fish oil x1
lyp sine (lysine hydrochloride, zinc, & vitamin c) x1 (preventative treatment for cold sores or herpes)
swisse mood x1 to manage anxiety, stress & depression symptoms - this one contains vitamins & minerals, as well as St Johns wort,, Siberian Ginseng, & Gingko.

At night I take:
total calcium magnesium + d3 x1
omega triple strength concentrated fish oil x1
lyp sine (lysine hydrochloride, zinc, & vitamin c) x1
super strength horseradish and garlic x1

I also often (but not always) take 10mg Phenergan, which is an antihistamine. It's an old school antihistamine, so it causes drowsiness, and is therefore helpful if I feel a bit edgy, anxious, or just not sleepy. The usual dose to assist sleep is 25mg, so just taking the 10mg is enough to reduce the chance of getting addicted or to feel too wiped out.
I've previously taken a higher dose, but found this makes me drowsy in the morning, and if I stay awake as it hits, it feels a bit like being high; which is not really my priority.

Prior to bed I also drink celestial seasonings sleepy time tea, which contains: chamomile, spearmint, west indian lemon grass, tilia flowers, blackberry leaves, orange blossoms, hawthorn and rosebuds.

All these are available at a discount chemist, supermarket, or both (obviously the Phenergan is only available at chemists, but at least here there is no prescription required).
