I have always wondered something about the Paris-Dakar Rally:

How do the racers get across the Strait of Gibraltar? Do they take a ferry, or is the Strait shallow enough for the vehicles to get across?

Tim

Hi,

They take a ferry. It is not that shallow. Every american ship/submarine that goes to the persian golf has to cross it. So imagine how deep it is. Regards,

Actually, over the years a number of drivers have decided to try and drive the strait, unfortunately they've all drowned.
