You don't have to be a circus contortionist, or Gumby to do yoga or benefit from yoga. Even those who are self conscious, shy, introverted can do yoga. There are free videos for beginners. Even starting out very slow, just five minutes a day can change your life. Even if you are not exactly "dainty" or limber. Just keep trying. Don't give up. It works for any body type. Give it a try.

I believe you are right, even though I don't do Yoga. I'm just a slave to routine, time, money, distance, etc., I use those all as excuses not to ever really get into it. Perhaps one day I will.

I do martial arts though, which I highly recommend as well.

Yoga and martial arts are the same things, at different levels. Both can accommodate anyone, of any age, any gender, any body style. Both improve and develop physical agility, strength, flexibility and mental and physical discipline.

I don't know if yoga is for everyone. There are probably lots of people who are more suitable for other forms of phsycial exercise. I am certainly not denying the benefits of yoga but in the west it's just one of the hypes of the moment.
