Any of You guys gonna watch a bit of it?

I have a party to go to tonight so I can only watch the first 2 hours of the opening Chernobyl or so, better than last time though where I had it tune in at midnight to watch Vancouvers Olympics.

I'm watching the opening ceremony now on BBC 2, though I didn't really understand what that title sequence was about, I think it was going through each letter of the Russian Alohabet and showcasing a famous russian thing for each letter.

No. Especially since they were slaughtering dogs as "biological waste" to "clean up" the olympic areas. :x

The Winter Olympics are bigger than the Summer Olympics here in Norway, so it's pretty much everywhere (the TV screen, the newspapers, any Norwegian web-site, etc.). I liked the fact that they sang the Trololo song during the opening seremony, but apart from that, I don't think a brutal dictatorship should be allowed to host the olympics.

I always think the world showcase is the best part. But the US uniforms this time are kinda....meh.

Boycotting on principles due to the hate crimes supported by the government, even boycotting the companies advertising

One of those five snowflakes failed to change into an Olympic Ring with the other four.

Did you lot here someone tried to fly a plane packed with bombs to Sochi?

My guess is it was gonna be a hostage crisis with them threatening to detonate the bomb unless money comes through.

It's usually the bad guys who get to have the best uniforms.

All coverage seems to be on BBC two at the moment, which is good since the last winter olympics in 2010 I could only remember finding coverage of it on Eurosport.
