I am curious about the Diets of Autistic people, Do you follow and strict dietary plans e.g Vegetarian, Pescetarian, Vegan ect.....
Do many autistic people have diets other than the Standard Human Omnivore diet?
I have been a Vegetarian for longer than I have been Diagnosed with Asperger's.
Please share and discuss your Diet, I am curious in this subject

It seems that every month I tend to eat the same things every day for that month. This month it's Hungry-Man fried chicken. Last month was seafood. The month before was spaghetti and meatballs. I must look funny when I go to check out counters every month with boxes upon boxes of the same food. That's been my habit, though.

This is what I do as well. Although, for longer stretches of time. Like 3-4 months.

My boyfriend is a vegan, so sometimes I eat some vegan things, but not often and not in any kind of strict way.

I'm vegetarian, and I like to eat the same things to some extent, but I don't have total control over what I eat.

I do not follow a particular diet, I do make sure there are a mix of fruits, veggies, meats, and grains in my diet. My breakfast is very routine, beyond that it is what I can make with what was on sale at the grocery store.

I went gluten and dairy free in 2007, then gave up nightshades in 2012. A few months ago, I started the Autoimmune Paleo Protocol version of the Paleo diet, which is about as strict a diet plan as you can get. These dietary changes don't have anything to do with Asperger's, though. I'm doing them for gut-healing and to manage inflammation, in order to better deal with physical health issues naturally and avoid having to take prescription medications for as long as possible.

I'm a gluten free a2 lacto-ovo vegetarian. I also eat very little processed foods. Mostly just fresh fruit and veggies.

I understand many of you have special dietary requirements for medical reasons, I have just noticed that many aspies have different eating habits than non-aspies, and was wondering if it hold true

I'm a meat and potatoes man myself. Sushi is okay once in a while.

I hate going to fancy restaurants where they give tiny portions for big, big bucks.

I like things with lots of meat, and spicy stuff! :D Melted cheese is good too, as are carbs. Naturally, tex-mex is probably my favorite cuisine. I like Asian and Italian-American dishes as well. ^^ My preferred beverages are of the cold and crisp variety, though sometimes I like a hot cup of coffee or tea.

When it comes to things I don't care for, well I don't like olives or mushrooms, I very rarely eat eggs, and I find unmelted cheese and white milk to be somewhat hard to consume.

When I remember to plan my meals I enjoy sushi, various Asian cuisine, and salads. When I forget to eat and almost faint, I eat whatever is easy. Oh, and I drink a lot of green tea and water, with an occasional coke. :-/

I watched family struggle with diets, so they really don't appeal to me. I don't eat much junk food and try to cook a lot of vegetables and lean meats, and I'm doing fine this way.

I'm too lazy to cook, and I don't like to think too much about what I eat.

My diet is fairly fixed week-to-week.

No strict diets, but fast food only once a week, avoiding emtpy calories in form of snacks and sweeties, avoiding needless additives like taste enhancers, ... or in general any "fabricated" food.

I stick to all natural foods. Meat and fish, veggies, fruits, nuts, a few legumes here and there. Rarely do I eat grains, or nightshades, dairy is even more rare. I am definitely not in the Paleo camp, but I do think there is SOME merit to wait Paleo is about, so most of my food choices resemble it. I give myself little treats often, making sure to fit them into my macros. Sometimes, I just do If It Fits Your Macros - and eat basically whatever I please, that day!

I've also been doing Intermittent Fasting, for the past year. Usually, I'll all of my food in two huge meals. Most of the time, one meal comes immediately after the other, so it's pretty much a feast. It takes me typically 3-4 hours to get all my eating done (around 3,500 calories per 24 hours, at the moment). Then, I fast for 16 to 30 hours and repeat.

I've been experimenting with all kinds of nutrition protocols, since becoming serious about my training... This way just works for me and I feel great. :D
