Lately I've been thinking about getting a piercing, somewhere on my face, but not my tongue or ear. Preferably my eyebrow.

My mother and my best friend both said it was a bad idea, they said it's difficult to get a job an when an interviewer sees piercings, that straight guys don't get their eyebrows pierced, that it leaves a scar, etc.

I understand why you want to get a piercing--it seems cool, and all the other kids have it!

However, I'm not a fan of piercing. It could cause infection because your skin, after all, is being PIERCED.

If you do get a piercing, make sure you could take it off easily when going for a job interview. There are many employers who don't care for the "pierced" look.

I wouldn't want to be permanent, just for a few years at most.

I spent my whole life just fading into the background, but now I want to be a little different.I guess it's an identity crisis. And I also want to start wearing black nail polish, maybe colored contacts, well maybe, and my friend wants to add highlights to my hair. I guess I just want to stand out a lot.

I can understand what you mean.

I used to hate "fading into the background" myself. And I did things to attract attention.

I guess piercing, hair color, and all that aren't particularly harmful, and probably won't make you stand out in a bad way--after all, many college students adopt that look.

As long as you don't get some kind of infection because of the piercing, I, if were close to you, wouldn't have any particular objection to your "look"--as long as you remain a good person.

I like septum piercings on guys who have the right face shape and features. It all depends on your face shape and features. I find septum piercings attractive on guys with higher cheekbones, smaller noses and no double chin. I like piercings on guys in general

Eyebrow piercings look best on bigger guys. If you're muscular or larger go for eyebrow. If you have the facial features I mentioned above and are small/scrawny go for septum.
