I've been like this even since childhood, but i've never really put on any weight until recently, when i stopped exercising. I'm about 4 stone overweight, with no sign of it getting any worse, doesn't matter how much i eat.

One day i took an energy drink filled with Taurine, and then suddenly i stopped being hungry all of the time. I thought it was weird, maybe a placebo, or i'm not well or something. It's too early to say.

I notice there is a post about it already on Wrongplanet...

Then i read this article about Taurine, i don't know how true any of this is...
http://bodyecology.com/articles/deficie ... PHWyOHP600

It's used for many things, including obesity and Autism, but i don't think it's been tested much...

A word of caution though, if you suffer from seizures, i've heard that it can make it better or even worse. I wouldn't take too much of this in the same way i wouldn't eat too much salt.

It's funny it mentions eggs as being high in Taurine, eggs make me feel better. I'm always eating fish too, like i'm lacking in that area. I always get this feeling that i'm lacking in something, i've had tests done for various things like diabetes, gluten intolerence, etc, but they always come up clear.

I found this statement online...

Quote:
According to the DAN conference in 2002 for the Autism Research Institute, 62 percent of autistic children participating in a lab study were found to be deficient in taurine by urine analysis. This indicates that while the deficiency is present in a significant number of autistic people, it isn't present in every autistic person.

If true, this might explain why people with Autism/AS suffer from anxiety so much, presuming that low Taurine causes anxiety. But i don't know how accurate or how good this DAN company is.

This is all just theory, let me know what you think, and have you had any good reactions with Taurine drinks like Red Bull?

I actually drink a lot of energy drinks with taurine and I still eat a lot. However with a metabolism four times that of the average human, I must eat a lot.
