A long time ago, must be about 20 years ago or so, I gave blood and that night, I was extremely cold. No amount of blankets could warm me up. But after some time, I was able to warm up. The next morning, I felt as though I was going to get sick and ran out to the kitchen to blow but I felt a little light-headed, got on my knees and bevan semi-convulsing. I remember that my eyes were open because I could see what was going on and I had the presence of mind to keep hold of the edge of the counter where the sink was.

I included the information about having donated a pint of blood because I thought it might be relevant. I've given blood before with no ill effects and I can't give blood anymore because that year, i had intimate relations with another man.

So anyway, if you think you might know what happened, I'd like to hear it.

Thanks!

What did you eat, if anything, after you gave blood?

The loss of blood (fluid volume) is normally replaced in one day. You could have had an issue with low blood pressure.

You might have been hypoglycemic from blood loss and not eating properly afterward.

You might have just been responding to nerves if the experience was emotionally stressful.

If you suffered a sudden drop in blood pressure, I'd expect convulsions to be normal in lieu of just passing out...your body would be struggling to remain conscious.

No, convulsions/seizures also cause a total loss of consciousness and you'd be unable to hold onto a counter. You'd be on the floor wondering what just happened.

It doesn't sound like it, it sound more like more vitals/blood pressure than neurological.

I had drug induced seizures (they were prescribed to me), one after the other on a single incident.

I can only describe my experience, which unlikely to be similar to like average seizure disorder.

They involved visual hallucinations, high pitched consonant screech, total rigidity/immobility that last between seizure. It is likely I convulsed but I was not aware. I think large movement we not likely due to how rigid everything was.

When you have them you eyelid close not like how you go to sleep, it is much more immediate and hard/involuntary, then you are out.

The hallucinations were very fast moving first person, like a roller coaster, but everything constantly changing. Pretty scary.

The hardest thing when coming round was knowing whether I was actually back in the room, and the going back under.

I can't remember how many time it was but it was numerous. I knew I had to get out of it somehow. I came round I released it was actually bad in the room. I couldn't move a my limbs. I was just opening my eyes wide not blinking in case I went under again. My eyes were like sandpaper becuase I wouldn't blink. It took a while for muscle to lose rigidity in the arms, I literally pried my eyelid open with my fingers for some minutes. After I while recovered enough to asses what the hell had gone on, I was soaked through.
