I thought the BCS was the worst ranking system ever concieved by man or machine. It made stupid decisions that almost anyone could complain about easily, and moreover ignored the bigger point of a tournament being needed. Then, the FIFA rankings came out this week. Brazil is number one, Italy is 2, and-wait a second. Brazil is one? They are admitting that their tournament somehow screwed up to the point where it picked an incorrect winner. Also worth noting:
Nigeria is 11 after failing to qualify at all. Uraguay is in a similar position
Saudi Arabia is lowest among teams in the field at 80. Meaning that there were 49 teams better that did not qualify
Trinidad and Tobago also dropped 17 after a tie against a European veteran team
England was 3 despite dropping out quickly. They were ahead of France

Does anyone care to justify how any of this is even remotely sensable?

statistics can make anything believable....statisticiansd are the real houdinis, they make things apear and disaapear at the whim of a politician.

making stats is a very precise tool that attracts aspies, interprettign stats as you are trying to do is a very nt thing that we cant grasp...dont fight it dude.......we cant understand it..we would question it but we will never understand it...nt's dont understand it but they wont question it...its great to be aspie.
