I'm curious how many of you guys suffer from migraines. What kind of symptoms do you get? Do you get any sort of warning sign before it hits? Do you have any specific triggers?

Basically any experience you have with migraines, I'm interested to hear it.

I was just diagnosed with a rare form of migraine called an abdominal migraine. When I get one I don't usually get a headache, instead I get extremely painful and debilitating stomach cramps along with cyclic vomiting. This can last anywhere from a day to a week. During this and right before I'll get the auras. I'll get more sensitive to the lights and smells. For some reason coffee, which I normally love, starts to smell terrible. Lastly right before an episode I will get this unusual queasy/nauseous feeling that is unlike anything else.

My grandma occasionally gets migraines. She gets sick to her stomach & has to take a suppository for them. I used to get migraines fairly regularly as a kid. I woke up with em at least half the time I had them. I laid down in the dark & took a nap & my headache would usually be gone when I woke up a couple hours later. I think stress & anxiety contributed to me getting them. I kind of gradually outgrew them in my teens. I occasionally get headaches that I have a hard time telling if they're migraines or not. I take Tylenol & I'll take Aspirin after a while if it doesn't go away & usually drink some soda too. I'll take the triptan Maxalt/Rizatriptan if that doesn't work & the combo of all the meds usually helps my headaches disappear.

I'm one of those autistics who have self injurious fits. When my chest is bruised, arm bitten, and scalp is bloody, that means I have been having migraines. I don't feel pain often. When I sense migraine pain, it's intense, but then in drives me so deep into my shell that I lose awareness, and my self care skills take a nosedive. So basically, menopausal migraines make life few very challenging.
